Birth Doula Services

Birth Doula Services Include:

• Two prenatal visits
• Unlimited email and phone consultation
• Continuous support throughout labor and birth
• Support during the immediate postpartum period
• Communication at one and three days postpartum to ensure a smooth transition into motherhood
• Support in establishing the breastfeeding relationship
• One postpartum visit within the first six weeks

Postpartum Doula Services:

• Postpartum doula services help provide a smooth transition for the whole family
• Your baby is lovingly cared for while you nap, shower, attend to other children, or just catch a few minutes for yourself
• Postpartum doulas can help with other children, perform light housekeeping tasks, answer questions about infants and the postpartum period, help with breastfeeding, and so much more!
• I maintain current American Red Cross certifications in CPR and Neonatal Resusitation
• I have fingerprint clearance through the State of Arizona Department of Public Safety

Childbirth Education:

I offer several formats for childbirth education classes:

• Six-week Group Session
• Four-hour Crash Course
• Private classes customized to your needs

• History of childbirth in America
• Choosing your care provider and place of birth
• What to expect during the various stages of labor
• Pros and Cons of medical interventions
• Benefits of unmedicated birth for mother and baby
• Comfort measures and coping techniques for labor and birth
• Physical and emotional changes in the first six weeks post partum

Reiki:

• Reiki is a form of energy healing that originated in Japan, and is gaining popularity throughout the world due to its gentle effectiveness
• Reiki is beneficial throughout pregnancy, during labor, and postpartum
• Reiki is safe for people of all ages, including newborns
• Reiki sessions can be purchased individually or in packages

Blessingway Planning:

• Blessingways (also referred to as Motherblessings) are intimate gatherings held to honor a woman's transition into motherhood
• Blessingways are spiritual, though not necessarily religious, and are enjoyed by women of all faiths, as well as those who are not religious
• Each Blessingway is customized for the mother being honored, and no two Blessingways are exactly the same
• Blessingways are a beautiful and thoughtful alternative to baby showers

Bellycasting:

• A bellycast is exactly what the name implies, a plaster casting of your belly!
• Each bellycasting session will take approximately one hour
• All necessary supplies are included in the cost of your bellycasting session
• Bellycasts are fun and unique keepsakes, allowing you to capture the beautiful shape of your pregnant torso
• The number of ways you can decorate a bellycast are limited only by your imagination

Midwifery Support:

• As a student midwife I assist at prenatal visits, homebirths, and postpartum appointments, as well as well-woman care visits, including PAP Smears.
• If you choose to hire one of the midwives I work with, my presence and support at your birth is included in the cost of your midwifery care.
• If you would like me to be your primary midwifery care provider, I am able to do so under the direct supervision of the midwives I work with.
• Should you choose to hire another midwife, I am happy to work with you as your doula, but regular doula fees apply.
