Philosophy
I believe that pregnancy is a healthy, normal state of being, and that women are perfectly designed to give birth to their babies. I believe all women are entitled to unbiased, evidence-based information regarding pregnancy and childbirth, and that each woman has the right and responsibility to control how, where, and with whom she will give birth. I feel honored to have the privilege of being with so many women and their families during this incredibly important time.

Regardless of the role I am playing on a woman's journey into motherhood, I strive to be nurturing, compassionate, and a calming presence. I rely on my education and experience to help guide and empower my clients, while always maintaining respect for their instincts and for the birth process.

Qualifications
My journey into birthwork began with the births of my three daughters.  I attended my first birth as a doula in 2001, and have been involved in various forms of birth work ever since.  I received two years of training through the Womancraft Midwifery Program based in Amherst, MA.  I am a student midwife, currently apprenticing with Robin Sharples Ray LM (website coming soon), and Jude Melton LM. I am in the final stages of my apprenticeships and am able to provide primary midwifery care under the direct supervision of my preceptors. I maintain current certifications in both CPR and Neonatal Resusitation. I am a Childbirth Educator, certified through Supported Birth of Arizona.  I am also a Certified Reiki Master, and have been practicing energy work for over five years. In 2004 I co-founded the Arizona Birth Network, a non-profit organization dedicated to birth advocacy through education, information and support.
